The position of Senior Battery Systems Engineering Manager is available at EVera Recruitment, a renowned leader in distributed energy storage. This role involves developing innovative battery systems, integrating hardware and software for the MAX energy storage system.
This leadership position will be responsible for:
* Integrating battery hardware and control systems to meet grid code regulations, including G99/G100 in the UK and equivalent standards for international countries.
* Leading R&D efforts to enhance control systems and develop new features.
* Conducting DFMEAs, designing for functional safety to ISO26262, and engineering systems for compliance with regulations, standards, and best practices.
* Developing a portable battery testing kit and back-end system to characterise all packs, iterating algorithm assessment to improve throughput.
* Leading the battery systems strategy and software engineering team to develop robust systems, introducing new concepts, features, and prototypes.
* Identifying new technologies and potential IP, supporting patent applications.
The successful candidate will have:
* A Master's degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
* 5-10 years of experience in engineering within electric vehicles and HV batteries.
* Expertise in Python, Embedded C/C++, and embedded Linux applications.
* The ability to control CANBus.
* A strong understanding of power electronics, including the energy produced from a battery pack and how it works, AC/DC DC/AC bidirectional power conversion.
* A thorough knowledge of software compliance and functional safety standards, such as MISRA, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, CMMI, ASPICE, or UL 1998.
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and code base management.
We estimate the salary range for this position to be between $120,000 and $180,000 per year, depending on qualifications and location.
