Join us as an Asphalt Mix Design Laboratory Technician in the Canterbury Region!
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Asphalt Mix Design Laboratory Technician to join the team based at our Christchurch Civil Engineering Lab. This opportunity will see you working in a well-established team on asphalt mix design and revalidation work for multiple projects and regions. Standard work hours include Monday to Friday, 7am – 4pm with occasional night shift and weekend work.
In addition to the above you will:
* Undertake asphalt performance testing and quality control.
* Develop test methods and apply existing appropriate international and local methodology.
* Test and report all required materials in accordance with the Fulton Hogan lab IANZ requirements.
* Provide analysis of results for relevant focus area to internal and external clients.

We’re looking for someone with:
* Minimum two years’ civil/mechanical lab experience.
* Experience with reading and understanding technical specifications with knowledge in New Zealand Asphalt testing methodologies.
* A great attitude and willingness to learn on the job.
* The ability to work both within a team and unsupervised.
* Great interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to problem solve and think outside of the box.
* Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritise daily workload to achieve timely delivery of project work.
* The ability to carry out physically demanding tasks.
* A relevant Industry qualification is advantageous but not essential.
* Knowledge of ISO 17025 is preferred.
* Capability in Microsoft Office particularly Excel & Office.
