Overview: We are seeking a Practice Nurse to join our friendly and experienced nursing team. The post is available for three days a week with up to 18 hours available and flexible, family-friendly hours.
Applications are welcomed from experienced Practice Nurses. This post is also suitable for an experienced community/acute nurse looking to transition into Practice Nursing as further training is available.
We are a well-established training practice and further training is available to the right candidate.
Main duties of the job
Duties:
* Dressings and wound care to include suture removal.
* Administer IM injection and vaccinations under PGDs.
* Cervical smear tests (training available).
* Leg ulcer care including multi-layer and pressure dressings.
* Monitor and manage chronic conditions, providing education and support to patients.
* Collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to develop patient care plans.
* Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with confidentiality regulations.
* Provide health education to patients and their families regarding disease prevention and health promotion.
* Monitor stock levels and support with ordering.
* Ensure the practice environment is clean, safe, and well-organised.

* Checking a patient's temperature, pulse, and blood pressure correctly.
* Working alongside and communicating regularly with practice GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with the NMC
* BSc in Nursing
* Qualified in diabetes care
* Qualified in respiratory care
* Independent prescriber
Experience
* Experience of working within a nursing team
* Experience of administering IM injections
* Experience of dressings and wound care
* Experience of working in an NHS healthcare setting - community services, acute hospital, or general practice
* Experience of working in a GP practice
* Experience of working with long-term conditions
