Summary
Hitchin Youth Trust is looking for a Treasurer to work with our paid Administrator to manage payments to support local young people.
Detailed Description
* Maintain adequate financial records in accordance with any financial controls imposed upon us.
* Ensure regular reporting of Income and Expenditure to fellow Trustees.
* Introduce any budgetary controls that may be necessary.
* Produce annual statement of accounts in association with the external auditors, which are required by any governing body (e.g., Charity Commission).
* Ensure that in the Treasurer’s absence, a deputy is available to continue to maintain the accounts on a regular basis.
* Ensure all Banking and associated Custody procedures are adequate.
* Ensure sufficient funds are available to enable all invoices and grants to be paid promptly.
* Communicate with our Investors (currently UBS) so money is invested and drawn down in a prompt manner as and when required.
* Ensure adequate controls are in place for any financial transactions that are transacted on behalf of the Hitchin Youth Trust. Any risk identified will be reported to the Chairman.
* Ensure that any employee of the Hitchin Youth Trust is promptly paid and all appropriate records maintained.
* Ensure that any committees of the Hitchin Youth Trust are given adequate financial information/reports that are needed by them to perform their function.
* The Hon Treasurer should also be a member of the Investment Committee and work closely with him/her to provide the necessary information to propose budgets to the main board.
* To liaise with the Investment Committee Chairman to make sure the correct reports and information are received by our Investment Managers and given to the Trustees as appropriate.
* Maintain a Risk Register to highlight potential risks to the Trust and log and review them on the Risk Register (Investment Section).
Hitchin Youth Trust is a Registered Charity whose aim is to support activities for young people up to the age of 26.
