Our client, a leading provider in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Technical Project Leader with Engineering Development experience in the naval domain to join their team on a permanent basis.
Key Skills Required for This Role
Managing engineering projects involving the introduction of new technologies ideally in the naval domain. This role is pivotal to the effective management of various R&D projects within the Submarine Systems business unit.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supporting project teams to manage activities, performance, and reporting for a range of R&D projects within the Technology Management portfolio.
2. Providing advice to project technical leads and team members on the development of R&D proposals, and subsequent mobilisation and delivery of those projects.
3. Ensuring R&D projects are managed correctly, reporting progress at key stage gate reviews, and keeping all stakeholders informed.
4. Coordinating monthly financial and progress reviews and reporting for a range of R&D projects within the Technology Management portfolio.
5. Maintaining a watch on maturing and emerging technologies that may be of interest to the business, including regular contact with partner universities.
6. Supporting updates to our Technology Strategy, highlighting those technologies and capabilities that are important to our business.
7. Encouraging and supporting the submission of ideas for new R&D projects.
Job Requirements:
1. STEM-related degree or equivalent experience.
2. Experience in managing engineering projects involving the introduction of new technologies.
3. Experience within large or complex engineering projects.
4. Knowledge of mechanical engineering / systems.
5. Self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
6. Expertise in Systems Architecture, Systems Design, Systems Engineering, and Systems Assurance.
