We are working with our Grangemouth based client Petroineos, who are looking to recruit a Terminal Manager to join them in their new venture on a permanent staff basis.
As Terminal Manager you will play a pivotal role in defining and supporting the transition of Petroineos future. You will support the delivery of the strategic direction of Petroineos Manufacturing Scotland Ltd (PIMSL) by leading the Terminal through a transformation, establishing a successful organisation whilst ensuring and safeguarding Scotland’s fuel supply.
Petroineos Terminal is a 24/7 import and export operation consisting of a variety of assets including tanks and associated pipework and pumps, two jetties and a road loading facility. This senior post, based at Grangemouth, is integral to the prosperity of the future Terminal and will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the short and medium term operational performance.
Accountable for the safe and effective operation of the Terminal assets, all Terminal activities and associated legislation whilst ensuring the delivery of cost and availability targets. The Terminal Manager will act as the focal point for Executive, Regulator and Political stakeholders and will support all internal and external communications.
The Terminal Manager will be the “face” of the organisation in Scotland and will be accountable for c60 staff, including Operations, Maintenance and Support Services, continually driving and promoting best practice ensuring all individuals are developed and competent to drive the successful delivery of the PIMSL strategy.
Education/Experience:
The successful candidate should demonstrate the following technical and behavioural competencies:
Required:
Oil & gas distribution/logistics experience with strong commercial acumen, ideally within a Terminal environment and with operational and maintenance experience
A strong personal commitment to drive continuous improvement in SHE performance.
Experience of working in a highly regulated environment e.g. COMAH site is preferred
Wide breadth of experience, preferably within the oil & gas sector with a strong track record of performance delivery
Demonstrates awareness of social, ethical and environmental issues
Demonstrates effective leadership, through motivating, developing and empowering teams to deliver high performance
Strong commercial understanding of Terminal business and processes
Able to understand, influence and motivate a wide range of disciplines – requiring an understanding of the core processes undertaken within the Terminal
Detailed understanding of the budget process including budget preparation, cost control and capital expenditure/project management
Excellent communication skills with all internal and external stakeholders, a strong influencer
Highly resilient, able to make risk based decisions regarding complex issues and challenges
Desirable
Sound understanding of company policies and site safety standards
Engineering, Logistics or related degree
Knowledge of SHE and fuels legislation
