My client is seeking a dedicated Repair and Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of Maintenance and Repair Trade Operatives, ensuring efficient and cost-effective repair work. This role is crucial for managing daily operations, ensuring safety compliance, and driving continuous improvement within a team of repair and maintenance trades within social housing.
Day-to-day of the role:
1. The Repair and Maintenance Supervisor will manage the daily operations of a team of Trade Operatives to ensure timely and accurate repair work.
2. Enforce Health & Safety policies and statutory legislation to ensure the safety and welfare of both direct labour and subcontractors.
3. Conduct daily team management activities including absence management meetings, performance reviews, and feedback sessions.
4. Facilitate training and development through toolbox talks, coaching, and support during call-out rota.
5. Perform pre-work inspections, provide technical advice, and undertake quality assessments to address any defects or incomplete works.
6. Liaise with tenants and clients to manage expectations and provide updates on service provision.
7. Handle administrative responsibilities accurately and timely, including data collection and analysis to drive improvement actions.
8. Implement Systems Thinking techniques to enhance service quality and cost-efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. Experience of or aptitude for leadership & management.
2. Excellent technical knowledge of building trade with maintenance or building trade and decision-making/problem-solving skills. Plumbing, Carpentry, Roofing.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook; capable of extracting and utilising data effectively.
4. Good commercial awareness with an understanding of cost impacts.
5. Self-motivated with a clean driving licence.
