Machine Shop Inspector – Precision Engineering
Location: Bognor Regis
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Salary: £16.50 - £19.50 per hour (DOE)
About the Role
A leading precision engineering manufacturer is seeking a Machine Shop Inspector to join their quality team. This role ensures all components meet customer specifications and industry standards through detailed inspections using CMM, Faro scanning, and traditional measuring equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections using CMM (PC-DMIS, Polyworks), Faro scanners, and manual tools.
* Inspect components at all stages of production to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
* Identify non-conformances and collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues.
* Program and operate CMM machines to ensure accurate and repeatable measurements.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T.
* Maintain detailed inspection records for ISO 9001 and AS9100 compliance.
* Work with production teams to provide feedback and improve quality processes.
Key Requirements
* Experience as a Quality or Machine Shop Inspector in precision engineering.
* Proficiency in CMM programming & operation (PC-DMIS, Polyworks).
* Experience using Faro scanning hardware or equivalent inspection systems.
* Strong understanding of precision measuring instruments (micrometers, gauges, verniers).
* Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T symbols.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
