Howdens Joinery have an opportunity in our Digital Trading team for a new SEO Executive.
A pivotal role in improving the organic visibility of the Howdens website, ensuring that it is effectively optimised for search and meets both on-page and off-page SEO best practices.
This role will also include working with internal and external teams to ensure that the website's technical development is carried out in accordance with best practices and supports the delivery of organic visibility and traffic growth.
A full time, permanent opportunity based at our office in Raunds, Northamptonshire. You will be required onsite at least 3 days per week. Travel to other sites and suppliers will be required on an ad hoc basis with overnight stays as necessary.
What will I be doing as an SEO Executive?
1. Carrying out regular crawls of the website to identify and understand any SEO issues and opportunities – in addition to ensuring these are prioritised and addressed accordingly.
2. Monitoring Google Search Console to ensure that the website is being crawled and indexed effectively.
3. Reporting on SEO performance, including visibility, traffic, share of market, share of voice and technical performance considerations.
4. Management and implementation of 301 redirects.
5. Monitoring and investigating 404 errors, working with merchandisers and content team to address issues.
6. Management of local SEO implementation, including on page optimisation and maintenance of local business data.
7. Working with development teams to ensure that technical SEO requirements are accurately described and explained.
8. Build strong working relationships with external suppliers to help drive performance.
What we need from you.
9. Experience working in an SEO role or a digital role with SEO experience.
10. Good working knowledge of SEO / Digital tools and platforms such as Screaming Frog, AHREFs, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Akami
11. Understanding of how SEO fits within a wider digital strategy and the importance of ensuring SEO is embedded within the approach in other teams, e.g. development, product data
12. Able to demonstrate comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of SEO theory, strategy and best practice
13. Effective written and verbal communication skills – able to communicate SEO requirements in relatable language
14. Experience working with developers to implement technical SEO changes
15. Exceptional attention to detail
16. Organised and able to prioritise workload effectively
17. Applications with digital marketing qualification are preferred
18. Candidates with any experience or exposure to Sitecore CMS is advantageous
