Quality, Health & Safety Engineer Job Location: Ringwood, Dorset Job Type: Permanent Salary: Dependant on experience Hours: 40 hours per week – Monday – Friday with a half day finish on a Friday Benefits: Excellent starting salary, 25 days holiday banks, On Site Parking, Company bonus We are working with a well-established manufacturing company who are seeking to add a Quality, Health & Safety Engineer to their team. The role will see you responsible for the company’s Quality, Health and Safety management systems, their accreditation requirements and compliance to the relevant ISO standard. The promotion of best practices in support of employee involvement in Quality, Health & Safety awareness and improvement activities. Key Activities Ensure that the quality system is maintained and improved, in accordance with the accreditation requirements of ISO9001:2015. Ensure compliance with all other statutory, regulatory and customer required standards. Review, Analyse and Report on the performance of the company quality systems. Work with HR to identify any training needs throughout the whole company including health and safety refresher induction and refresher training. Ensure the company meets all PPM targets set either internally or externally. Work to improve all aspects of the quality section, including, product/process audits, process improvements, process engineering activities and project control. Conduct and control Internal and External quality audits in line with ISO9001: 2015. Check and approve manufacturing documentation. Responsible for all aspects of Health & Safety requirements including, but not restricted to, staff inductions, fire precautions, First Aid requirements, PAT testing and CoSHH. Ensure that all customer complaints are recorded, actioned and preventative measures are implemented. Responsible for the work environment including recycling and disposal of hazardous materials. Attend regular review meetings with line manager and/or Managing Director. Update the company’s Progress Plus computer system with test results, customer returns etc. Carry out data analysis to enable reporting of trends, quality and performance. The successful applicant will possess the following skills / experience: Educated to in a relevant engineering discipline or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Quality and H&S role gained within ‘preferably’ a manufacturing or engineering environment. Auditor status Experience in implementing and developing Health & Safety policies, procedures, Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAM’s). Possess the necessary interpersonal skills that will enable engagement with all levels of the business. Able to take the initiative and where appropriate to work with the minimum of supervision Work to a high standard of accuracy, well-presented and confident PC skills – Microsoft Office suite Gathering, analysing and reporting on key H&S data/statistics A motivated and a self-starter able to work on own initiative. The ability to work in a team environment or alone when required.
