Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Contract Type: Agency - Full Time / Part Time
Salary: Competitive, based on experience (in line with HLTA pay scale)
Start Date: April 2025
About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated, experienced, and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant primary school in Sheffield. As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting the teaching and learning process, working closely with class teachers to provide high-quality education for all pupils, especially those with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and support teaching and learning within the classroom under the direction of the class teacher
2. Deliver planned interventions to small groups and individuals, focusing on raising attainment and meeting the needs of diverse learners
3. Take responsibility for planning, preparing, and evaluating learning activities for small groups
4. Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and those who require additional support, ensuring that they can access the curriculum effectively
5. Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher
6. Assist in the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum, including literacy, numeracy, and foundation subjects
7. Supervise and support children during playtimes, lunch breaks, and other school activities
8. Actively contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications:
1. Experience working in a primary school setting, with a good understanding of the National Curriculum
2. Strong knowledge and understanding of SEN, including strategies to support children with additional learning needs
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
4. A proactive, flexible, and hardworking attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
5. A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
6. Experience in delivering interventions to support specific areas of the curriculum
7. A First Aid qualification (or willingness to undertake training)
8. A commitment to continued professional development and growing your skills in education
