Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist - Respiratory Service
NHS AfC: Band 7
Here at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, we are recruiting for a Senior Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist who shares our vision to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
There is 1 new Band 7 senior clinical nurse specialist role in the respiratory & Sleep team available. There are opportunities for staff to upskill into this role. If you do not have all the skills and competencies required, do not worry and speak to one of the team for further advice prior to your application.
If you need upskilling, you would initially be employed as a Band 6 CNS until you meet the competencies to work independently, which may take 3-6 months. Once you have met these, you will then automatically be re-banded as a Band 7.
You will work 4 days a week from 8 am to 6 pm and be part of a 7-day rota, working approximately 1 weekend in 9.
You will work with patients suffering from respiratory conditions and assist in developing a seamless service spanning outpatient, ambulatory, and inpatient care, including the Acute Chest Team (ACT) within the Trust and liaison and support for community and primary care colleagues.
Take part in nurse-led clinics, which may include diagnostic COPD, Oxygen reviews, Asthma, TB, ACT, Sleep, and other respiratory conditions.
At the heart of everything we do are our core values: Include, Respect, and Improve. We encourage you to embrace these values throughout the recruitment process and in your role with us.
Main duties of the job
The CNS Team is looking for a nurse who is passionate about respiratory disorders. You will have an impact on patients' lives right from the front door in ED to supporting the patient through their pathway in secondary care and beyond.
The Respiratory nurse team is part of a hugely successful Acute Chest Team (ACT service). This service ensures patients are seen at the right time, in the right place, by the right people. The team also runs complex clinics including Oxygen, Sleep, COPD, Asthma, Biologics, TB, CPAP, and general respiratory reviews.
You will be in a team of highly dedicated staff. You will have opportunities to take part in research, including presenting locally and nationally, and you will be supported in any training needs.
Please come and visit the team or contact the team leads to get a detailed overview of the post.
