We are looking to recruit a social work assistant to the team on a full-time and permanent basis. Justice Social Work provides a social work service to those appearing before the criminal courts, to those who have offended and who are subject to community order, and to those in prison. As part Social Work we are partners in the protection of children and vulnerable adults. Our team is committed to high professional standard of practice and continuous development. We wish to recruit to the position of Social Work Assistant, Unpaid Work covering the core duties of Criminal Justice Social Work namely the provision of a social work service to those undertaking unpaid work. With a focus on compliance, engagement and community integration you will support service users, individually and in groups, to undertake on-line training, education and develop life skills. The post holder requires excellent interpersonal and professional skills and an ability to relate effectively to service users, their families, colleagues and to a range of other agencies. The post holder will have a demonstrable knowledge of and commitment to Criminal Justice Social Work values and will have relevant experience in an associated field of work. Requirements A current UK driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged. This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
