HV Operations Specialist

With over 40 operational windfarms, we manage all of our sites through our world leading Control Centre at Whitelee Windfarm, near Glasgow.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leading and implementing ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) safety culture and values, maximising Offshore H&S performance through strict adherence to and application of SPR HVSRs, gaining Senior Authorised Person authorisation up to 220KV under the SPR ESRs.
2. Ensuring optimum availability of the site through effective outage planning and management which minimises the duration of any outages, managing the authorisation process of Competent Persons under the IBR HVSRs whilst performing the role of SAP at voltages between 66kV and 220 kV (future projects could extend to 400kV).
3. Implementing local management instructions, relevant codes of practice and the HVSRs, preparing switching schedules for maintenance tasks, installation work, fault location and repair where required whilst keeping records on daily activities and performance of Subcontractors.
4. Organising and executing HV switching, isolation, earthing, identification of the point of work and issue of safety documentation duties on HV networks up to 220kV (future projects could extend to 400kV), performing site risk assessments, reviewing third party Contractor risk assessments and method statements, ensuring these are comprehensive and fulfil necessary requirements.
5. Supervising and monitoring the performance of equipment OEM's and other Contractors for electrical maintenance equipment, preparing periodic maintenance reports of serviced assets to highlight performance trends, identifying issues and making recommendations on corrective actions and supporting the Deputy Site Manager in the management of electrical equipment service and maintenance Contractors.
Skills and Requirements
1. As Senior Authorised Person (SAP) under safety rules of a DNO/NGET/Power Generating company or equivalent, possessing experience in HV Electrical Maintenance from the Offshore Wind industry or an industry with similar operational and safety challenges.
2. Experienced SAP / AP 33kV, with practical experience of asset management of industrial HV and LV systems, including resource planning and maintenance project delivery.
3. With a working knowledge of SCADA systems, possessing a willingness to work at heights and work Offshore with a good level of physical fitness.
4. Travelling within the UK and Europe on occasion, necessitating overnight stays, with the ability to transit Offshore via marine transfer without suffering from sea/travel sickness and possessing a flexible approach to working hours to ensure the delivery of planned and unplanned activities. Additionally, able to attend site out with normal working hours to respond to any emergency situations.
