Job Description
We are looking for an innovative, dynamic and experienced person to join our Children’s Health, Care and Justice Service as an Independent Reviewing and Improvement Officer. Working as a member of the Promise Participation and Improvement Team, you will influence transformational change across East Ayrshire as we strive to improve the lives of our care experienced children, young people and young adults and work to deliver our aspirations to #keepthepromise. This dual purpose role involves undertaking reviews for children and driving improvement in children’s services through quality assurance and development activity. Working as a member of the East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership, the role will involve extensive partnership working. The role will also include line management responsibility for participation leaders and modern apprentices who are working to ensure the voice of children and young people is front and centre of our efforts to drive change. You will be committed to improving outcomes for our care experienced community as we strive to make system change that removes barriers and stigma.
Requirements
The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Council. Please note: PVG members' records are constantly updated with any new vetting information that arises. Responsibilities
We follow the national guidance in relation to pre-employment checks namely “Safer Recruitment Through Better Recruitment”. The Individual
This is a temporary full-time post initially till 31.3.26. The workstyle for this post is ‘Flexible’ - 50-79% of time is office based. Able to work at different/multiple work locations. Occasionally works at home, or another location 1-2 days per week, or directly home to external appointments. The admin base for this post is The Johnnie Walker Bond, Strand Street, Kilmarnock. Annual Salary - £47,848 - £50,582.
