Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for a full time B7 Nurse Team Lead on a 9 month Fixed Term Contract. The role will provide nursing leadership and management for clinical services across our hub and bespoke service model. The post includes line management, providing day to day management and leadership, smooth running of our clinical service, ensuring compliance within nursing, regulatory, governance and best practice frameworks. Safe clinical quality and care standards in a cost effective environment are essential whilst supporting the LLR Sexual Health management team and wider sexual health services across the Trust.
The post holder will ensure that a high quality service is delivered within this specialist area and that all National and Trust targets and standards are adhered to including the recording of information within the IT systems. The post holder will be responsible for the management of staff within the team, leadership, the delivery and delegation of management supervision and ensuring appropriate clinical/professional supervision takes place as per Trust Policy. The post holder will support staff in clinical areas to develop and maintain clinical practice knowledge and skills which will enhance the clinical competence of individuals and the team to improve provision of the fundamentals and specialist care in the sexual health setting.
Main duties of the job
The post holder carries day to day responsibility for the clinical and operational management and delivery of services within the Integrated Sexual Health Service in line with the Trust Values.
The post holder will work with the clinicians to provide support for departmental training courses and provide clinical opportunities for post registered professionals to develop their knowledge and skills in Contraception and Integrated Sexual Health.
In conjunction with the service manager, operational manager and multi professional partners they will develop the provision and quality of sexual health services for patients. They will support the Nursing Management Team in development of standard operating procedures within the service reflecting current evidence and guidelines for best practice. This will demonstrably reflect the principles of clinical governance, clinical effectiveness, cost effectiveness as well as Trust and National Policy.
The post holder will provide 50% of time in direct clinical contact as a clinical expert and role model and 50% of time as operational team lead, with flexibility within both of these roles to support the service as required.

* Providing high quality contraceptive and sexual health services to all patients
* To clinically support staff within the integrated sexual health service
* Within community settings the post holder will provide assessment and appropriate interventions to individuals. This should be in accordance with NICE guidance.
* Responsible for providing operational and clinical leadership to the sexual health multi-disciplinary team.
* To be responsible for the deployment, day-to-day management, supervision and co-ordination of designated staff.

Qualifications
* NMC registered nurse/midwife with a Degree in Nursing
* FSRH Diploma or equivalent contraceptive course and STIF Advance Course or equivalent
* Independent and supplementary non-medical Prescribing Qualification
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
