Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Childcare Assistant (Bank) at our Chichester campus. You will join us on a variable hours bank contract, and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £14.49 per hour.
The Childcare Assistant (Bank) role:
You will be a part of a warm and bubbly staff team and will benefit from access to training and qualification opportunities, opportunities for progression, and the first invite to applications for permanent positions within the setting.
This role is for ad hoc hours to support in covering staff absence, holiday and breaks, and in enhancing ratios to deliver support for children in receipt of additional funding.
Key Responsibilities of our Childcare Assistant (Bank):
Ensuring that the children are happy, settled and well cared for.
Following the nursery safeguarding procedure to ensure all children are kept safe, well and secure
Engaging in good team working, liaising with nursery staff to ask how the day is planned.
To be flexible within working practices of the nursery and to be willing to help where needed e.g. cleaning up from meals, cleansing of equipment etc.
Working alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that FSCG ethos is fulfilled
Reading, understanding and adhering to FSCG policies and procedures relevant to your role as deemed appropriate by the Manager
RespectIng the confidentiality of all information received.
Working as part of a team to ensure that the children’s individual needs are met, and ensure that every child reaches their full potential.
Our ideal Childcare Assistant (Bank) should have the below skills and experience:
Level 2/3 in Early Years, Care and Education (or equivalent)
Experience working in a childcare setting or have undertaken a childcare placement
An understanding of current Early Years regulations (including Every Child Matters, Early Years Foundation Stage and Ofsted National Standards)
The ability to relate to all children on their level
Flexible and proactive in approach
