Key Responsibilities Design and implement engaging therapy programs tailored to individual student needs, integrating sensory, emotional, and developmental strategies. Deliver individual and group therapy sessions, promoting emotional regulation and access to learning. Collaborate with teaching and support staff to integrate occupational therapy into classroom settings. Conduct assessments to identify therapy needs and monitor student progress, providing regular reports and recommendations. Provide training for school staff on occupational therapy strategies, supporting the school's holistic approach to education. Maintain detailed therapy notes, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with school policies. Act as a liaison with families, providing updates on therapy progress and strategies for at-home support. Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the school’s ethos of inclusion and excellence. Qualifications and Experience Completion of an accredited occupational therapy program with HCPC registration. Proven experience working with children and young people in challenging contexts. Strong understanding of child development and strategies for SEMH, PTSD, ADHD, and ASD. High level of competence in English and mathematics. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Experience in sensory integration or additional therapy-related qualifications. Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and therapeutic models such as Zones of Regulation. Training or experience in educational settings or with children with SEMH needs.
