Job Title: Preschool Deputy Manager
Job Type :Full Time permanent – Monday to Friday 8.30- 4.30pm Term time only

To work as part of the preschool team under the direction of the Preschool Manager to provide safe, high-quality education and care for young children.
Main Duties
The deputy will be capable of stepping into the Manager’s role as and when required, ensuring that all tasks and responsibilities are completed to the expectations and standards required by 345 Preschools, offering a seamless transition from Manager to Deputy and vice versa.
* To have clear understanding of SEND and DSL roles
* To have excellent knowledge of EYFS and how best to implement within the setting
* To assist with the planning of the curriculum in accordance with EYFS
* To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support, stimulation and be competent in engaging children, extending children’s interests/ideas – ‘planning in the moment’
* To help set up the playroom for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of a session.
* To act as a keyworker to a small group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring each child’s needs are recognised and met.
* To advise the preschool manager of any concerns over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality where necessary in accordance with confidentiality/data protection policy
* To attend regular staff meetings.
* To attend mandatory training courses and CPD training as required.
* To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Preschool Manager, in accordance with the preschool’s business plan/objectives.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
* Holds a Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (or full and relevant equivalent)
* Has experience working with children aged 2 – 4 years years
* Is able to plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote holistic development
* Demonstrates a nurturing, patient and empathetic approach to early childhood care
* Is highly organised, proactive and is able to lead by example
* Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families and the wider preschool team
* Is committed to continuous professional development and keeping up to date with best practices
* Has a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and safeguarding requirements
