Live-in Maternity Nurse/Nanny Overview Our new client has recently welcomed twin babies and is looking for a mature and experienced Live-in Maternity Nurse/Nanny to join her household. This exciting position involves working five days a week, initially structured as three days and two nights per week, offering much-needed support and expertise during this special time. The babies, currently 10 weeks old, were born four weeks premature and are thriving under the care of their attentive family. The role of the Maternity Nurse/Nanny will include helping to establish routines, providing developmental care, and ensuring the non-identical twins receive the highest standard of attention. The ideal applicant will have extensive experience with premature newborns and twin care, bringing a calm, nurturing, and proactive approach to this important role. The family employ a part-time Housekeeper. Please note, this role is a permanent position with an immediate start date. Job duties Responsibilities of the Twin Maternity Nurse/Nanny in Oxfordshire include: Provide round-the-clock care for the twin babies, when on shift Monitor and care for the babies’ feeding, changing, and sleeping schedules Prepare and sterilise bottles and assist with breastfeeding or bottle feeding as needed Monitor the developmental needs of the premature twins and provide appropriate care to support their growth Help implement and maintain a structured routine for feeding, sleeping, and playtime Work collaboratively with the parents to adapt the routine as the babies grow Provide overnight care two nights a week, ensuring the babies are fed, comforted, and settled during the night Allow the mother to rest by taking over night-time responsibilities Offer guidance and reassurance to the mother on newborn care and best practices Assist with transitioning to independent care as the babies grow Maintain a clean and hygienic environment for the babies Handle laundry and ensure the babies’ clothing, bedding, and equipment are clean and organised Engage the twins in age-appropriate activities to stimulate their cognitive and physical development Be prepared to provide additional support during busy or challenging periods Candidates must be/have: A minimum 5 years of relevant experience working with babies (ideally twins) and young children Ability to support and manage the needs of premature twins Flexibility for on-call support Flexibility to travel after one year Accommodation A separate two-bedroom cottage will be provided.
