The role and opportunity
At Octopus Money, we help people get control of their money in the way that works best for them - supporting key financial moments in life.
The ideal candidate will be a fundamental part of the expanding Mortgage department and will have a unique opportunity to help shape and grow the business along with providing best-in-class tailored specialist mortgage advice to clients referred from both Octopus Group and external sources.
Day to day you will be:
1. Successfully convert incoming leads, complete repeat business and generate initial fee revenue from mortgage business.
2. Develop a collaborative productive relationship with other areas of the business to help grow the Mortgage department.
3. Consistently provide a high level of service to all customers to achieve customer goals and to ensure a seamless advice and application process is delivered, which results in positive customer outcomes.
4. Maintain both knowledge and competency of the full range of mortgage products offered to new and existing customers ensuring that the best customer outcomes are achieved.
5. Be proactive with continual professional development of the mortgage market along with the wider financial industry.
6. Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to and all contact made with customers meet regulatory requirements.
7. Be proactive with improving existing procedures and introducing new procedures to ensure the Mortgage department is running as efficiently as possible.

Required
1. Minimum CeMAP qualified.
2. Minimum of 2 years experience working as a mortgage adviser on a whole of market basis.
3. In-depth knowledge of the mortgage industry, regulations, and mortgage products available in the market.
4. Remain compliant – measurements include; Business Quality Assurance (BQA) grades, CPD, complaints upheld, Risk Events, etc.
5. Work in a consistent and compliant manner to FCA standards.
6. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
7. Outstanding communication and listening skills, with the ability to explain complex information in a clear and simple format.
8. Good technical knowledge of FCA regulations.
9. Highly competent G-suite and Microsoft Office user, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
In return for your contribution we offer a base salary of £35,000 - £45,000 + bonus and benefits.
