Job Description Project Controller - Submarines Full Time Derby/ Hybrid Why Rolls-Royce? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Controller to join the Dreadnought Manoeuvring Room Trainer (DN MRT) Team within Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby. Rolls-Royce Submarines Limited (RRSL) designs, manufactures and provides through-life support for the nuclear reactors that power the Royal Navy’s submarine fleet. These reactors are controlled from each vessel’s Manoeuvring Room. RRSL is embarking upon an exciting new project to produce Manoeuvring Room Training facilities to be used to train the Dreadnought Class crews on the operation of the next-generation nuclear reactor, PWR3. RRSL will deliver two Manoeuvring Room Trainers (MRTs) into the Royal Navy Submarine Training Centre (RNSTC) in Faslane and potentially additional classroom-based Part Task Trainers (PTTs). Delivery includes design, assurance, manufacture, transport, installation, commissioning and handover. As a project controller within the DN MRT team, you will be supporting the DN MRT Project Team with the daily running of the projects in line with best practice PM processes. You will be working alongside programme and technical teams to help ensure cross functional teams deliver against the requirements set by the programme using the business processes available. What you will be doing: Supporting, and leading, on the creation, analysis and integration of project and business related data including; cost and schedule baselines (budgets, risk contingencies, network schedules, and scope changes) within the programme. Supporting the programme team on delivery of core tasks such as weekly/monthly reporting, change control, assurance on delivery tasks and management of risk and opportunities. Gathering of project data and production of information for management review, including interfacing with programme, customer and engineering teams to ensure necessary data is available and correct. Leading work packages, performing planned data downloads and interrogating data to make controlled updates to support data integrity. Data consolidation, reporting and communications. Supporting in running an agile project environment that supports transparency on daily task management. Supporting improvements to our processes that drive towards maximum efficiency. Degree or equivalent Continuous Professional Development or appropriate on the job experience. Basic knowledge of Project Management. Demonstrable experience of working within a project delivery organisation. Good analytical skills - ability to analyse and interpret information.
