Hourly pay rate: £20 employed rate. £22 self-employed.
I am looking for a PA to provide support for my 16-year-old daughter. She has a great sense of humour and is one of Taylor Swift's number one fans, so an interest in pop music and films would be beneficial. Additionally, a fun outgoing nature and a willingness to talk about life and read - current favourites are Julia Donaldson and Michael Morpurgo. This role is to care and inspire a 16-year-old girl with epilepsy, cerebral Palsy and a moderate learning delay for approximately 6 hours a week, hours can be flexible, however my daughter is at school during term time from 9 am to 3 pm Monday to Friday. The ideal PA will be able to provide a calm atmosphere with no sudden noises or changes and most importantly have an understanding of epilepsy and administering rescue medication.
Duties include:
Medication prompting/administering
Other relevant duties as required
Transportation
Bathroom assistance
Help and assist to developing life skills such as cooking, arts and crafts, dressing for the current weather and planning trips etc. Some assistance with using the toilet, mainly help with sanitary product changing
Putting coats and shoes on. While supporting with, and promoting, life skills in and around the home, to socially interact, reassuring and promoting positive associations to becoming more independent.
Support with moving on from fixations and diverting attending to something new.
Have an understanding of epilepsy and be able to administer rescue medication – relevant training will be provided.
