Start Date: ASAP Rate: Up to £20 per hour (umbrella rate) with weekend enhancements Duration: Ongoing Job Description: Pulse AHP’s Phlebotomy Team is currently recruiting for experienced Phlebotomists/Healthcare Support Workers to join the team for a role based in the North-West area. These roles will be working locally in the North-West area providing Phlebotomy & Healthcare Research services. This is an established programme that is looking for new candidates as it moves into its next phase. To be successful in this role, candidates must have at least 1 year’s experience in drawing blood and proof of competency as a phlebotomist. This position is ideal for those seeking a second or part-time job, with the flexibility to work at least 2 days per week. The role involves working in mobile units that move every 5 to 6 weeks, with locations expected to include Blackburn and Chorley. Our Future Health is the UK’s largest ever health research programme – it’s been specifically designed to help people live healthier lives for longer. Volunteers provide physical measurements, blood samples and lifestyle data to help with the discovery and testing of more effective approaches to disease prevention, early detection and treatment. Main Responsibilities: Responsible for capturing height, weight, and waist measurements, taking heart rate and blood pressure checks, and inputting result data onto the system. Draw two blood samples for each participant, label and store them correctly, check the welfare of the participant throughout the appointment, and escalate any issues to the nurse in charge as required. Offer signposting, advice, and guidance to participants as needed, and prepare boxes containing samples to be collected by the courier at the end of every shift. This is a shift-based position, similar to a bank role, where availability will be matched to the candidate's schedule. Qualifications and Experience: Recent phlebotomy experience of at least 12 months. Proof of competency. HCA experience. Must be willing to fully register with our agency. A driver would be very beneficial due to the sites being mobile. MUST have at least 1 year’s experience in drawing blood and have proof of competency as a phlebotomist.
