A Commissioning and Test Engineer is required to join an International Industrial Systems and Engineering company that Designs, Manufactures, Assembles, Tests, and Commissions Industrial Systems. The successful Commissioning and Test Engineer will report to the Commissioning Unit Manager/Head.
The role can be varied, managing a range of Commissioning activities over the full life-cycle of bespoke Engineering projects and representing the commissioning function to customers and other departments within the organisation.
The Commissioning and Test Engineer will use solid Engineering knowledge to extract relevant information from specification and design documents to write, develop, and follow Project Commissioning strategies on engineered solutions for a safety-critical industry, taking ownership of assigned packages of work with pride.
Responsibilities:
1. Support tendering for new projects by estimating hours required for commissioning work.
2. Create project commissioning strategies for new bespoke projects and ensure their implementation.
3. Develop test and commissioning documentation as required.
4. Assess equipment readiness for commissioning.
5. Prepare for and complete factory and site acceptance testing, ensuring risk assessments are created and followed.
6. Ensure required test equipment is available and complete all testing as per procedures.
7. Identify faults or non-conformities during testing and report issues using business procedures.
8. Ensure work is completed within the required time frame and communicate any deviations.
9. Ensure test work is designed and carried out safely.
10. Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Qualifications, Skills, or Experience:
1. HNC Qualified (or Equivalent) or Higher with Extensive Engineering Workplace experience.
2. Broad base of experience in the operation of mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
3. Appreciation of relevant Standards such as BS7671 for electrical engineers.
4. Ability to adapt to changes in situations or equipment.
5. Customer-focused, able to work with customers and stakeholders to meet expectations.
6. Collaborative, seeking collective success through teamwork.
7. Results-oriented, planning and focusing on delivery within time and budget constraints.
8. Adaptable to change, responding positively to individual or organisational changes.
9. Acts with integrity and professionalism.
10. Demonstrates clear ownership of assigned packages of work.
Security Clearance (SC) may be required due to the nature of the products involved.
