Job summary South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Consultant in Neurology, Neurophysiology or Mixed Posts Applications are invited for multiple Consultant posts, totalling 18 PAs, based at The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. The newly appointed consultants will provide general neurology services including: outpatient clinics; ward rounds; consultations on other wards and the associate administrative duties. This may include the provision of satellite clinics. A special interest in neurophysiology would be preferred, however other areas would be considered where they complement existing services. Applications from exclusive neurophysiologists are also encouraged. Main duties of the job The appointed consultant(s) will: Maintain the highest clinical standards in the practice of Neurology and Neurophysiology. Cover for colleagues' annual leave and other authorised absences. Provide professional supervision and management of resident medical staff. Be actively involved in the management of the department including attendance at the fortnightly Consultant/Directorate meetings and regular consultant away days. Take part in annual appraisals (mandatory for all Consultants), carried out by the Clinical Director. Appropriate time and assistance will be provided for preparation. Active involvement in audit. Involvement in research - Joint research projects are undertaken with both the University of Teesside (University of the Year 2009) and Durham University and involvement in the further development of research links.
