ESTIMATOR
BRISTOL
£50-£60k + car and bonus
We are currently recruiting for an Estimator to join our dynamic Group Commercial team.
To be considered for the role, you will currently be employed as an Estimator with significant experience within the house building industry.
KEY DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS
1. Manage and maintain the master estimating documents such as the Land appraisal documents, House build workbook, abnormal foundation schedule, R&S schedule, etc.
2. Update build costs based on current sign-offs and review prelim rates based on actuals.
3. Pull together Land appraisals in conjunction with the land and sales teams.
4. Price up abnormals for internal budgets (i.e., foundations, cut/fill, R&S, retaining walls).
5. Utilize a site profitability matrix to ensure efficient layouts based on cost and revenue.
6. Conduct ad hoc measures and pricing exercises.
7. Compile backup and substantiation for price notices.
8. Send out R&S, Groundworks, and Piling enquiries for new sites and assist in the initial tender clarification and analysis until it is passed to the QS’s as a live site.
9. Manage and maintain the customer/sales extras prices for sales.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Estimator who demonstrates strong attention to detail and a methodical way of working. Motivation and organisation are key to success within this role.
You must also be able to demonstrate excellent relationship management and problem-solving skills. The ability to read Architectural and Engineering drawings and an understanding of residential construction processes is essential.
Minimum Requirements
1. A relevant qualification or broad experience in Commercial Management.
2. In-depth knowledge and understanding of civil and structural engineering designs, layouts, and practices.
3. An in-depth understanding of the commercial aspects and financial implications of the methods and sequences of build.
4. Broad finance/commercial awareness & technical knowledge.
5. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
6. Good knowledge of commercial and financial management systems and controls.
7. Good awareness of codes of practice that impact on commercial matters (e.g., Building Regulations, NHBC requirements, HSE, etc.).
8. Full UK driving licence.
