Job summary this first, so inform, engage and excite. The Community Intensive Rehabilitation Team (CIRT) is embedded within the Hampshire and Isle of Wight NHS mental healthcare system. It sits alongside the Community Mental Health Recovery Teams. We work with Portsmouth residents; aged over 18 that have complex psychosis and related severe mental health conditions; a primary diagnosis of a psychotic illness (including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychotic depression, delusional disorders, and schizoaffective disorder) plus severe, treatment-resistant symptoms (positive and/or negative) and/or coexisting mental health problems such as severe anxiety, depressive or obsessive-compulsive symptoms or substance misuse. The CIRT work in all community settings; though will commonly work with people living in supported accommodation, often long term, to enable their optimum level of functioning and independence. CIRT will support people to develop structure and purpose in their day to day lives and promote a sense of community and belonging. You will need to have good communication and people skills along with a flexible and responsive approach as well as a genuine interest in working within this rewarding area of mental health.
