This is a key role helping to deliver Projects that meet the Transport Policies.
You will be responsible for the progression and resourcing of Transport/Highway schemes working with the client to deliver the capital works programme and will manage a portfolio of projects valued at up to £12m, including outline design, planning consent, procurement, and construction of transport and highway works.
The postholder will work with the PMO office to ensure project governance and that the improvements to existing infrastructure are carried out successfully. In addition, they will co-ordinate and control the activities of a wide technical and delivery expert, shaping and overseeing design activities, overseeing contracts to ensure delivery certainty.
You should have a track record of building and maintaining strong stakeholder and partnership relationships to foster a one team mindset in delivery.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different, and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express themselves spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.
