Main duties of the job
As part of the a multidisciplinary team, you will assess and provide support and intervention to adults who have communication difficulties and/or swallowing difficulties across acute and community settings. You will have the chance to be involved in videofluoroscopy clinics alongside MBSIMP-certified clinicians. Your duties will include input into a range of MDT meetings e.g. complex feeding issues, complex neurology and stroke MDT.
The successful applicant will demonstrate advanced communication skills and enthusiasm to deliver high quality care.
Return to practice application would be considered welcomed and will receive training/support once in post.
Permanent- 37.5 hours per week
The Therapy Group is a dynamic and evolving group of services working in collaboration to ensure strong governance and leadership throughout the Therapy services. The SLT are key contributors to this and the successful applicant will be encouraged to participate in service development.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Speech & Language Therapy degree
* RCSLT member
* HCPC registered (if under grad HCPC applied)
Experience
* Understanding of assessment and treatment of adult communication disorders
* Understanding of assessment and treatment of adult swallowing disorders
* Evidence of understanding need to adapt to patient/cultural/medical needs
* Experience working in MDT (Adult or Paed)
* Experience delivering group therapy
* Experience working in NHS and acute hospital environment
* Experience in the NHS (voluntary, student or paid)
Knowledge
* Knowledge or the need for maintaining patient confidentiality
* Knowledge of clinical governance (legislation, policy, or procedure)
* Acknowledges the legal responsibility of an SLT
* Experience of clinical audit
* Example of involvement in clinical audit
