The Team Leader is responsible for managing the activities of the hygiene department, ensuring the hygiene standards are delivered on time and in full, through careful management of the team under their supervision. They have a responsibility for ensuring company rules are enforced, particularly Health and Safety practices, Food Safety rules, Quality Specifications (SOPs, WI and CICs) and good manufacturing practice.
Key Result Areas:
• To ensure that departmental cleaning tasks, as detailed on the task allocation sheet, are completed to agreed standard as directed by Hygiene Manager
• Monitoring and auditing post cleaning standards
• To lead by example while undertaking allocated tasks and ensure that operatives remain gainfully employed during their shift
• To train, monitor, coach and supervise operatives working in allocated areas
• To carry out all tasks with due regard to the contract specification and all legislation including Health and Safety and Personal Hygiene
• To ensure correct materials, equipment and methods are used at all times and equipment is kept clean and in good working order, reporting faulty machinery or equipment immediately
• To ensure PPE is kept clean and tidy and is worn correctly at all times while at work
• To ensure all requisite documentation is completed to the required standard at all times (training records, daily audit packs etc.)
• To use every effort to develop and maintain effective working relationships • To attend training as required by the Manager
• To ensure staff are released for training as required by the Manager
• To report all accidents and dangerous occurrences and complete relevant paperwork
• Interreact with and attend customer meetings or audits if requested by the line Manager
• Controlling cleaning chemicals in the factory, ensuring they are clearly labelled and secure to prevent any risk of contamination
• Taking micro swabs to monitor cleaning standards as requested by the Technical Department
• Responsible for site mobile phone
• Responsible for ensuring 5S standards are met by the team
• Completing I-audit related tasks as allocated by the manager
• Responsible for Incident Control (following proper training) in the absence of the Night Shift Hygiene Manager
Key Performance Indicators:
• Take necessary action to improve cleaning standards
• Challenge and resolve issues to install sustainable improvements
• Drive and manage the performance of your team and train them on standard operating practices and best practice
• Liaise with other departments where necessary to communicate issues affecting Hygiene
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Food Safety Standards
• Oversee team breaks and attendance and liaise with Manager on how to manage accordingly

Experience:
• Previous cleaning team experience
• Previous leadership experience is desirable
Qualifications:
• Chemical training/ Chemical titration training
