The Opportunity
Our client is the Design and Engineering partner for a major nuclear site working with various partners on a long-term framework to deliver major projects. They're looking to recruit high-value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. Their team is delivering major projects with site-wide improvements and provision of supporting services.
Estimated Duration: 12 months
This role has been deemed inside of IR35.
Location: Warrington, Hybrid
Your Duties and Responsibilities
As a Senior Radiological Safety Assessor, you will be responsible for:
1. Preparation, review & support through due process of Radiological HAZANs, Operational Safety Memoranda (OSM) and Design Safety Memoranda (DSM).
2. Preparation of Safety Case documentation (e.g. PICSR, PACSR, Safety Case Summary, OSMs to support PMPs).
3. Preparation, verification, and oversight of Construction Crane Assessments.
4. HAZOP / HAZCON Chair.
5. Oversight and verification of work carried out by Graduate and Junior Assessors.
6. Engagement with INSA & attendance at Regulatory Engagement Meetings.
You Will Have the Following Qualifications & Experience
1. Degree qualified (Science & Engineering or related discipline).
2. Senior grade Safety Assessor with Moderate and relevant practitioner experience in a nuclear or high hazard environment.
3. The ability to work independently and produce assessments with minimal supervision.
4. Experience in peer review, verification, and QA of Safety Assessments.
