The role
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Finance Assistant to join our friendly team in Cheddar. You will play a key role in supporting the finance department by ensuring the smooth and efficient management of financial processes. Your responsibilities will include managing invoices, processing payments, reconciling accounts, and assisting in financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail ensuring the departments objectives are achieved. This is an exciting and unique role, with the opportunity to work autonomously and make it your own. It comes with career progression and would be suitable for someone who is interested in pursuing a Managerial role within Finance. Ideally you will be working towards an AAT Qualification but we will consider a strong "qualified by experience" candidate.
Main responsibilities and duties
* Accurate and timely posting of supplier invoices to the purchase ledger.
* Assist in accounts payable and receivable functions.
* Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
* Maintain and update financial databases and spreadsheets.
* Assist with audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
* Respond to finance-related queries from stakeholders.
* Dealing with discrepancies and problem solving.
* Credit Control.
Skills and experience
* Previous finance experience required, with understanding of Sage.
* Proven administration experience within an office environment.
* Accurate with an excellent eye for detail.
* Methodical in approach to tasks.
* Organised and ability to keep calm when under pressure.
* Excellent telephone manner.
* Willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
* Clear written and verbal communication.
* Friendly and personable and works well within existing team.
