Position Title: Supply Chain Supervisor
Location: Preston, UK – Onsite
Position Overview
The Site Supply Chain Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and optimizing supply chain operations at a manufacturing site and distribution warehouse, with a focus on production scheduling, warehouse and inventory management and service levels. This includes coordinating production planning, managing material flow, ensuring efficient logistics, and driving process improvements. The role collaborates closely with internal teams to achieve operational efficiency and site-level performance goals.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Oversee Production Scheduling and Raw Material Planning to meet customer demand while balancing stock targets.
2. Ensure timely delivery of raw materials to production and finished goods to storage or distribution.
3. Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and dispatch of materials and products, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
4. Oversee site-level inbound and outbound logistics, including scheduling and transportation, ensuring cost-effective and timely deliveries.
5. Analyze inventory data to identify trends and take corrective actions to optimize stock levels.
6. Implement and monitor processes to ensure inventory accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
7. Identify and implement improvements in supply chain and warehouse operations to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
8. Lead and manage a team of 3–5 direct reports across planning, scheduling, warehouse, and logistics.
9. Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including production downtime due to material availability, production schedule adherence, total inventory, and SIFOT.
Minimum Requirements
10. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or a related field.
11. 3–5 years of experience in supply chain, warehouse, or logistics management within a manufacturing environment.
12. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
13. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcoding/scanning tools.
