Purchasing Manager

My client is seeking an experienced Indirect Purchasing Manager to join their team. You will be leading the Indirect Purchasing team, developing and overseeing strategic purchasing decisions from conception through to implementation and managing key supplier and stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the commercial interface with external suppliers
2. Deliver the Indirect Procurement strategy for all indirect components and services
3. Manage the team of Buyers to ensure they consistently maintain high performance and drive supplier excellence in terms of cost, delivery, and quality
4. Provide leadership direction, development, guidance, and support for team members of the Indirect Purchasing Team
5. Manage the indirect supply base and ensure alignment with business strategy
6. Maintain and communicate monthly departmental metrics and KPIs
7. Create strong, effective working relationships with stakeholders and key suppliers
8. Lead and coordinate commercial and contractual negotiations
9. Strive to maximize value for money and ensure a professional process and control of expenditure is maintained
10. Manage the supply chain to support the business needs
11. Collaborate with other stakeholders to promote strong team working
12. Create annual continuous improvement plans for cost, quality, delivery, and people development
Ideal Candidate:
1. Have a minimum of 5 years proven track record in a similar role developing and managing a high performing team
2. Have strong leadership skills, working constructively with cross-functional teams
3. Have a supportive coaching team behavior
4. Have good commercial acumen and effective communication at all levels
5. Have strong influencing and negotiation skills
6. Possess a process mindset with a capability for logically solving complex problems
7. Ideally be CIPS qualified or equivalent
8. Have extensive Procurement or Supply Chain experience with leadership responsibility
9. Have strong Vendor Management Skills
10. Be resilient and professional
11. Be energetic with a strong work ethic and customer focus
12. Be commercially aware with solid negotiation skills
13. Ideally have strong SAP knowledge
