The post holder will actively contribute to the school’s strategic growth plans and will seek innovative commercial opportunities to grow Ipswich School Enterprises’ profitability and ensure we are a leading, commercially astute independent School in the area.
Ipswich School is one of the foremost independent schools in East Anglia, and is proud to be regularly ranked as Suffolk’s top independent School. We were established prior to 1399 and moved to our present site in 1852. We are a co-educational school with just over 1000 pupils aged between 3 months and 18 years. We were judged in September 2022, by ISI Inspectors, to be Excellent in all categories and they confirmed, Ipswich School has a fine record of academic success, which is placed within the context of an extensive range of activities outside the classroom.
The School comprises a Senior School with over 820 pupils aged from 11 to 18 (around 80 of whom Board with us during term time, and which is due to be expanded from September 2025), and a Prep School with over 200 pupils aged from 5 to 11 years. The Lodge Day Nursery provides the very best care for our youngest children aged from 3 months to 5 years. Ipswich School Sports Centre in Rushmere provides outstanding sports facilities for our students and is also available for external hire, as are other areas of the School estate outside of teaching time.
Our trading arm, Ipswich School Enterprises Ltd (ISE), incorporates all of our revenue generating activities (including lettings, room and facility hire, private functions, sporting events and school holiday camps) which fall outside school fee income and this is a key area of development for the School.
