Position: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant - Supply Basis Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. Employment Type: Supply / Agency Basis. Salary: £85 - £95 Per Day (depending on experience) Hours: 8:30am – 15:30pm - term-time only We are currently seeking several Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants to join our team on a supply / adhoc basis to support students in SEN Schools located in and around Hertfordshire. Our client schools cater to students aged 3-19 with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Global Developmental Delay (GDD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). Responsibilities: Collaborate with Senior Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) and Teachers to prepare resources that meet the individual learning objectives of assigned students. Provide 1:1 support, under the supervision of the class Teacher, for skills-based learning. Track and report on student progress using evidence-based methods, in collaboration with the class Teacher. Facilitate student learning by understanding their goals and targets, encouraging the practise of new skills, and promoting independence. Provide comprehensive support to ensure the well-being and engagement of students in learning. Provide support for all students across the school. To provide personal care and support with physical interventions when required; for students with physical disabilities. Adhere to Safeguarding policies and procedures to maintain a safe learning environment. Requirements: Minimum GCSE qualifications in English and Maths. Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred but not required. This role includes additional responsibilities beyond those of a Teaching Assistant. A genuine want and desire to work with children within the education sector. All Teaching Assistants need to be flexible and willing to work with the whole school cohort to support and manage the day-day running of the school. Proactive mindset to take initiative, successful Teaching Assistants hit the ground running and can use their own initiative without needing too much guidance to engage with their students. Strong organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently. Prioritisation skills to handle multiple responsibilities.
