ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled Test Development Engineer with expertise in delivering test solutions for complex systems, particularly within the medical or automotive industries. This role requires a meticulous individual who can design, develop, and implement robust tests, working closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure the reliability, quality, and compliance of our products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product specifications and requirements. Develop and document comprehensive test strategies to validate the performance, functionality, safety and reliability of products.
2. Design and implement custom automation-based test solutions, coordinating test development projects via internal and external resources.
3. Support FMEA activities to identify potential failure modes, their causes, and effects on product performance and reliability. Utilise FMEA outputs to prioritise testing efforts and design appropriate test methodologies.
4. Support investigations into failures encountered during testing, collaborate with engineering teams to implement corrective and preventative actions.
5. Ensure that testing processes comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO, IATF ). Participate in audits and reviews to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
6. Implement configuration management practices to control changes to test systems. Maintain accurate documentation of test configurations and versions to support reproducibility and traceability.
7. Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimisation within the test development lifecycle. Implement best practices and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
8. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Software Engineering or related field
9. A rich experience in test development, preferably in the medical device or automotive industry and incorporating a mix of optics, electronics, software, firmware, laser systems, and mechanical elements
10. Knowledge of configuration management tools and practices to ensure the consistency and integrity of test environments

Mandatory:
12. Continuous Test, Integration, Development, Tooling and Processes
13. 10 Years Plus Developing Software Automation tests on Windows and Linux
14. Autonomation Test System design, implementation and deployment
15. Extensive, hands-on experience programming in Python
Desirable:
16. Power Shell, C#, C++, .NET
17. Experience of test tools, we use Squish, PyWinAuto, Appium, WinApp driver
18. Experience of fast paced Lean / Agile project delivery
19. Experience of delivering software for medical devices
