Our client an independent family-owned business, is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join their team as a Structural Design Engineer. With over three decades of success, they pride themselves on their exceptional customer care and strong industry relationships.
Position: Structural Design Engineer
* Location: St Austell, Cornwall
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:15 PM (30 min lunch break)
* Reports To: Technical Sales Manager
The ideal candidate will have expertise in structural design and proficiency in various design software tools to support our mission of making life easier for our customers and becoming the brand of choice through exceptional service.
Pay:

Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage all structural engineering requirements for M&E related enquiries
* Review customer technical requirements and manage incoming enquiries
* Use CAD, Revit, AutoCAD, and RSTAB software for structural design projects
* Draft CAD drawings for conceptual and construction works
* Model mechanical and electrical supports using 3D plant software
* Perform structural calculations for steel framing solutions with RSTAB software
* BIM modelling to create building models with required supports
* Create material take-offs for the workshop and purchasing department
* Solve support design problems
* Provide excellent customer service through phone communication
* Conduct site visits to assess build progress and address design issues
* Assist with engineering administration tasks (workload planning, administration, quality checks)
Experience & Qualifications:
* Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and RSTAB
* Basic understanding of mechanical & electrical building systems
* A degree in engineering
* Experience with bolted connections & modular steelwork
* Experience in BIM modelling
* Strong understanding of building codes and regulations
* Excellent communication skills for collaboration across teams
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
