We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work within schools across the Birmingham area, The ideal candidate will be able to work closely with Senior Leadership, Subject Teachers and Students alike, with the objective to promote positive behaviour, emotional well-being and academic success, these roles range from supporting in a SEN Hub, to working in small groups or 1-1 mentoring with a student. This role is a developing role, meaning that with help from colleagues you must construct strategies to help students overcome challenges and thrive in their learning environment.
Responsibilities include:
* Aiding with behavioural issues across the school, providing one-on-one support to students that require individual support
* Create a safe & supportive environment for students, to express their feelings and concerns
* Tracking & assessing students’ behavioural and academic progress, adapting where necessary
* Work closely with SENCO and parents to create a support network for students
* Liaise with external agencies when necessary to create a fully supportive network for the child
* Develop a personal initiative to foster a positive school culture and promote inclusivity
Requirements:
* Teacher assistant experience - 1 years (preferred)
* Enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willing to obtain)
* Safeguarding & KCSIE (or willing to obtain)
