As part of the pharmacy service, this role ensures the safe and effective use of medicines throughout the Trust. The post-holder will support the Chief Pharmacist in ensuring that effective medicines systems operate throughout the Trust and will serve as the pharmacy lead responsible for the research and development of clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review the feasibility of proposed clinical trials considering the pharmacy aspect.
2. Oversee expenditure and reimbursement for the pharmacy team for clinical trials (Research and Development (R&D)).
3. Ensure all pharmaceutical aspects of clinical trials validation, including digital systems, are built in accordance with good clinical practice (GCP), good manufacturing practice (GMP), statutory national and international standards, and clinical need.
4. Support the coordination of local responses in a timely manner, working closely with clinical and research teams, Pharmacy, Sponsors, and the R&D department.
