About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Religious Studies Teacher to join our dedicated team in Vale of Glamorgan. The successful candidate will inspire students to explore diverse beliefs, ethical values, and cultural traditions, fostering an environment of understanding and respect. This role involves delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons that encourage students to think critically, appreciate different worldviews, and develop their moral and ethical reasoning. You will play a vital role in shaping students' understanding of the world and their place within it.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Religious Studies lessons across all key stages, aligned with the Curriculum for Wales.
Engage students in discussions and activities that promote empathy, respect, and an appreciation for different religious and cultural perspectives.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing individualized support to enhance learning outcomes.
Actively participate in the school community, supporting events, clubs, and extracurricular activities related to religious and cultural education.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that encourages open dialogue and personal growth.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need to be a qualified teacher with a strong background in Religious Studies and a deep understanding of the Curriculum for Wales. Ideal candidates will be committed to fostering open-mindedness, ethical reflection, and a respect for diversity.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialization in Religious Studies.
Proven experience teaching Religious Studies, ideally within a secondary school setting.
Thorough knowledge of the Curriculum for Wales and current assessment frameworks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
