Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Producer to support our team 1 day a week when delivering our public commissions and live events series for Royal Docks Originals 2025. Royal Docks Originals, a brand-new biennial festival speaking loud and proud to Newham's unique cultural heritage, diversity, and dynamism hits London next year. Taking place from late September to November 2025 and responding to the Royal Docks stunning land and waterscape, the festival will present world-class arts, spectacular new installations, and premier performances.
Hive Curates are currently working on a number of exciting public art commissions which will form part of the festival, including a large mural which will be unveiled in Spring 2025. The position offers a young Newham resident the opportunity to join the Hive Curates team at an exciting point in the programme, gaining valuable experience in the arts, shadowing both co-founders as they develop open calls and commission multiple artists throughout 2025. The ideal candidate is passionate about the arts, local to Royal Docks or lives in the London Borough of Newham and is eager to contribute to the success of the festival.

Hours: 8 hours
Salary: London Living Wage / £110.80 per week
Duration: 9 month fixed contract (starting February 2025)
Reports to: Hive Curates management
Days: Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday
Hours: 10am-6pm
Location: Roaming but with base at Broadworks (57 Old Broad Street, EC2M)
Benefits: 4.5 days holiday entitlement + Bank Holidays

2. Someone 18-30 years of age
3. Someone who can bring fresh ideas and an enthusiasm for the area & festival
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
1. Help to shape the programme for the live series and research potential artists and performers for the festival.
2. Assist Hive Directors with the planning and commissioning process.
3. Assist the team and Marketing Assistant with content capture, artist interviews and festival promotion.
4. Assist in developing a programme of events, activations and online content for wider Royal Docks Originals channels
5. Participate in artist studio visits, fabricator and site visits to gain experience in the commissioning process and working in the public realm.
6. Work alongside the team to deliver community engagement and workshops.
7. Assist with the evaluation process and recording key KPI's.
