Head Of Finance Salary: £75k per annum Location: Haslingden Role Overview: The Head of Finance will lead the financial operations of a dynamic manufacturing business, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and insight for operational and commercial objectives. This role encompasses full responsibility for transactional finance, FP&A, policy development, and the management of financial systems and controls. The Head of Finance will play a key role in supporting the Finance Director maintaining financial health, ensuring compliance, driving continuous improvement in financial processes and the wider business to achieve the strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities: Lead the transactional finance team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other financial transactions. Monitor cash flow and working capital to ensure we are achieving our objectives. Drive improvements in KPI reporting to enhance operational and financial efficiency. Oversee the maintenance and analysis of standard costing within the ERP system. Leverage in-depth experience with fully integrated ERP systems in a manufacturing environment. Ensure ERP systems are optimised for standard costing and financial reporting. Provide insights to improve cost control and operational efficiency. Define, monitor, and report KPIs for the finance team. Develop, implement, and maintain company financial policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning. Provide detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Managing the development and maintenance of key business metric, highlighting key insights and recommendations. Maintain tight financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity. Conduct regular reviews of processes to identify and mitigate risks. Take full responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the balance sheet and trial balance. Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end closing activities. Liaise with auditors, ensuring smooth and efficient audit processes. Build and maintain relationships with banks, lenders, and HMRC, ensuring compliance and effective communication. Train and support staff in the effective use of the ERP system. Key Requirements: Education & Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification. Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Experience: Significant experience in a senior finance role within a manufacturing business and dealing with C suite stakeholders. Proven expertise in standard costing and ERP system management (Epicor advantageous). Track record of implementing and maintaining financial controls and policies. Experience liaising with auditors, banks, lenders, and HMRC. Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset. Excellent leadership and team management abilities. Proficient in financial reporting and KPI development. Comfortable to work with ambiguity when working at speed but also detailed at tasks that require accuracy. Advanced knowledge of ERP systems, particularly in manufacturing contexts.
