Reporting to: Adult Skills Tutor and Support Officer
We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic person to help run our evening socials group in Luton and Dunstable.
These groups provide an opportunity for autistic adults to socialise, gain confidence and develop their skills. The group meets regularly and enjoy a range of different activities such as attending the local cinema, bowling, and visiting different restaurants in and around Luton and Dunstable.
Experience:
The ideal candidate will be an approachable person with experience of working with autistic adults, be decisive and quick thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
* Funding: Position subject to specific funding availability; Autism Bedfordshire cannot guarantee duration, location, or availability.
* Line Management: Adult Skills Tutor and Post Diagnostic Lead
* Planning: Develop and deliver session themes with service users, inform them of upcoming sessions, and integrate new users.
* Health, Safety, and Welfare: Ensure medical and welfare requirements are met, check site safety, report hazards, and implement policies.
* Fire and Emergency Procedures: Adhere to fire and emergency requirements, conduct fire drills, and maintain records.
* Policies and Procedures: Follow Autism Bedfordshire’s policies, promote safeguarding, and maintain confidentiality.
* Administration and Other Duties: Maintain good relationships with venues, ensure premises are clean, and assist with administration tasks.
* Scheduled Activities: Promote social and communication development, ensure risk assessments are completed, and provide feedback.
* Team Leaders: Allocate responsibilities for administration, logistics, and communication.
* Paid Staff and Volunteers: Ensure professional conduct, assign roles, document attendance, and support professional development.
