Senior Analyst – Business Analysis
This is a great opportunity to step into a high-impact role at the centre of a commercial finance team. As a Senior Analyst within the Business Analysis function, you'll play a key part in shaping strategic decisions, supporting big investments, and driving real change across the business.
What’s the role about?
Some of the kinds of questions you’ll get to explore include:
* Does adding more store payroll lead to better sales?
* What’s the actual value of Click & Collect?
* How does product mix influence store performance?
* How can we use data to improve how we protect merchandise?
* What’s going on in the wider retail market—and how do we measure up?
This role is all about diving into those kinds of challenges using smart analysis, storytelling with data, and partnering with teams across the organisation. You’ll work closely with functions like Marketing, Operations, Property, Buying, Ecommerce, and more—and your work will be seen and used by senior leaders across the business.
What you’ll be doing:
* Collaborating with a range of departments to provide financial and analytical support that drives their goals forward
* Partnering with your manager and other analysts to deliver joined-up insights that shape decision-making
* Challenging assumptions and making recommendations to improve performance or reduce risk
* Creating robust financial models and business cases for major initiatives
* Supporting test-and-learn trials—guiding teams through setup, analysing outcomes, and presenting results
* Offering insights into industry trends and competitor activity to help the business stay ahead
What you’ll bring:
* A strong analytical mindset and a passion for using data to solve problems
* Experience building financial or business models
* A curious, proactive approach to your work—you don’t just wait for a brief, you’re already thinking two steps ahead
* Strong communication skills—you know how to make complex analysis clear and engaging
* Confidence working with large, messy data sets and multiple sources
* Proficiency in Excel (must-have); Power BI or similar tools are a nice bonus
* Experience in a retail or consumer-facing environment is ideal
* A qualification in accounting, business, or an MBA is preferred—but relevant experience also counts
