The Deputy Finance Director is responsible for robust planning and management of the department’s finances, directly advising the Executive Board to help the department to maximise its resources and best deliver on its responsibilities. You will lead teams covering Strategic Finance and Planning, Finance Business Partnering, Finance Operations and Transformation. You will engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders across and beyond the Treasury group, including the Audit and Risk committee, the Executive Management Board, the National Audit Office and teams across the business and subsidiary organisations. You will have a key role as part of the Corporate Centre Leadership team in managing the group and play an active role in the delivery of the cross-government finance functional agenda within the Treasury group. The Treasury is a high performing and fast-moving organisation, with a large and complex balance sheet, managing a range of financial interventions and support schemes. We're looking for an outstanding leader to build, develop and motivate a high-quality team of specialist and generalist staff to provide expert advice and support to Treasury teams, Ministers and departments in a way that is simple, practical and cuts through complex issues. You need to be confident to work at pace in offering support and financial advice to policy and operational teams and supporting the executive team in their decision making on financial issues. You will deputise for the Finance Director regularly and be a visible leader in the department.
