Job Description
* Job Title: System Engineer
* Salary: £49,788 - £60,852
* Location: Watford
* Hours: Full-time
* Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Watford site. During the training period, we ask new starters to be in the office 5 days a week until they are competent and fully trained.
About this Opportunity
The focus of this role will be to support and enhance the pre-production and production web infrastructure to help define Tusker’s future infrastructure, ensuring security, resiliency, and scalability to facilitate the growth of the business. Work closely with the Tusker development team to assist in the delivery of projects by getting involved with and leading infrastructure improvement projects, such as SIEM, PAM, and infrastructure as code, and develop, maintain, and adhere to installation, configuration, and change management procedures and policies.
What you’ll need
* Work with members of the business at all levels to formulate technical solutions to meet business needs. Communicate effectively with stakeholders and build relationships with users around the business, as well as third parties to ensure the smooth operation of Tusker’s infrastructure.
* Research and recommend innovative and open-minded approaches for systems engineering tasks.
* Track all work through the Tusker ticketing system.
* Adhere to and help define Tusker’s procedures to ensure quality, compliance, and security. Create and update infrastructure documentation.
* Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, resources, systems, services, and key processes, including the recovery of systems and services from hardware or software failures/errors.
* Application of patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Installation of new IT equipment (servers, services, settings, storage, policies, etc.)

* AWS (EC2 and RDS)
* VMware
* Docker
* Ansible
* Terraform
* Apache
* NGINX
* Experience with monitoring tools is necessary
