Main Duties and Responsibilities Provide a clinical Nutrition and Dietetic Service to designated wards and, if required, outpatient clinics at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. Attend relevant ward rounds/meetings and liaise with medical, paramedical and nursing staff as necessary. Act as a resource for nutrition and dietetic information and advice to other professionals. Assist in updating and development of diet sheets and new teaching materials. Participate in menu checking for inpatients on therapeutic diets and liaise with the Catering Department for the provision of therapeutic diets. Assist with training and updating healthcare professionals, regarding evidence-based nutrition therapy, including giving lectures and informal talks. Collect all data necessary to meet local information requirements and as required by the Nutrition and Dietetic Service for service monitoring. Participate in quality assurance programmes, and development and maintenance of service standards, policies & procedures. Participate in personal and professional development through objective setting and regular job review. Work as a committed and effective member of the dietetic staff in order to maximise the potential of the service and profession. Maintain professional competence and expertise by keeping up to date with current research, working practices and models of working. Provide dietetic cover for other wards and hospitals as necessary. If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.50.
