Job Details Experienced United Kingdom Location - LETCHWORTH, Hertfordshire Full Time Not Specified Up to 50% Engineering Description Northland Controls Limited is looking for a Commissioning Engineer in United Kingdom, Letchworth. The job duties include: Work within the project delivery teams to engineer physical layout and system security designs or mark-ups. Review of system design prior to installation works and highlighting of any apparent technical, functional or compatibility issues with the design package while highlighting any deviation to client’s standards. Manage all on site trades both external and internal ensuring that all security dependencies are aligned and completed on time to enable the project to be delivered successfully as planned for the clients FDOB. Manage and execute on-site changes to the physical installation to meet client and Northland standards as indicated within the agreed design package. To communicate effectively while on and off site with clients, client project teams and the Northland Project team when required, discussing problems, clarifying situations, identifying and explaining solutions. To communicate effectively with our Local Service Partners (LSPs) on all EMEA projects to establish their assigned engineering POC as well as discussing project details/requirements, identifying problems, clarifying situations, identifying and explaining solutions. High-level testing and troubleshooting of access control and digital network video systems. Basic level program access control and digital network video systems at the discretion of the assigned application engineer. Basic population of programming sheets at the discretion of the assigned application engineer. Population of commissioning sheets, site plans, mark-up drawings, and co-ordination with the assigned application engineers in the commissioning process of client systems. To commission systems and be responsible for testing and handover of the finished installation to a satisfactory conclusion in line with the security design packages. Complete all commissioning and hand over documentation as well as identifying any snagging items to the project manager to ensure all elements are driven to completion for a clean and error-free operating security system. Follow assigned projects to final adjustments; test, troubleshoot and rectify as part of the commissioning and sign-off process. To ensure on-site clients are trained in the use of the installed system. To supervise and manage members of the installation team for both internal technicians and LSP engineering teams while working on-site. Verify the installation quality meets as a minimum the standards as defined within the security design package and in line with Northland best practice guidelines for security installation standards. To communicate progress on jobs and provide regular status reports to the Project Manager to enable efficient resource planning. To work on project pre-builds when required or to inspect and verify that the quality of builds that have been completed by others are to the client and Northland standards, prior to being dispatched to sites. Responsible for site change updates to the Operation and Maintenance manuals and in conjunction with the Application Engineers, provide assistance to end users in the use of the systems usage. To identify and report the training needs of colleagues, and to train and develop colleagues to improve and maintain standards across the company. To attend site meetings as required, representing the company in an effective and professional manner. To ensure prompt completion of personal timesheets, expenses, project tracker reports and any associated paperwork on a weekly basis. To work in compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety standards and requirements; with the safety of self and others in mind at all time. To maintain confidentiality and be sensitive to client’s security requirements. Such other duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require. Frequent travel to client sites across the UK and occasionally across the EMEA region.
